We’ve all experienced passive-aggressive people right? Someone who leaves us feeling depleted in some way.

Let’s get into some serious #TruthTalk…

When we don’t use rigorous truth in running our business, we undermine its value and damage the path to success.

It may surprise you to think about it in this context but it’s well worth exploring. Procrastination, failing to accomplish tasks, blaming other things or people, feeling sorry for yourself. These are all signs of acting passive-aggressive with your own business.

And these behaviors all STOP when you start to get honest.

I believe that practicing honesty means you are actively engaging with your business and your life. And if that’s not happening, you are actually doing harm.

The fact is when we don’t understand the truth about our business,  we cannot engage fully with growing it! We cannot achieve the freedom of life, spirit and bank balance that we dreamed of.

You are a woman who wants to work smarter right?

So, I challenge you to take a moment, right now and examine the truth for each of these questions:

  • Take a quick SWOT of your business – List the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats.
  • Next, write down what your biggest vision plans are for the next 12 months?
  • In setting out to achieve these, do you have a clear sense of what your strengths are?
  • And importantly, do you know what pieces you cannot handle by yourself, and where you will need help?

You have to get really honest and assess when its right for you to delegate certain tasks to other people.  Because  #TruthTalk sometimes, you become the blocker to your own progress, the reason that shit is not getting done. You cannot do everything and you don’t have to!

  • Take time out.
  • Start telling the truth.
  • Look at somewhere you are slow or stuck or feeling fearful and admit “Ok, this isn’t happening because of ME

Once you do that, you can make a plan to get support and move on. This is where the magic happens. You GET UNSTUCK and like a boss, you focus on the right things – making money, nurturing clients and getting leads.

Starting with the truth is like planting a seed that grows great things in your business.

My business has to work for me and my family. This is a core value for me.  In the last couple of months, I have had to get honest with myself and admit I just couldn’t do late night calls every night of the week. I also can’t work between the hours of 4pm and 7pm because I have small children and I want to spend that family time with them, every day. If you have followed me, you know why this is important to me.

So I looked at the situation and I reassessed.  Now, I only have late-night calls on Mondays so that I have the rest of the week to get work done in day time hours. This means Monday is a loooong day for me with very little breaks but I can manage that because it gives me the flexibility I need the rest of the week.

Because the truth doesn’t stay still either. We have to keep checking in, measuring and re-assessing as we grow – in life and in our businesses.

What worked last year or even last month might not work now.

  • Are your systems working or do they need to be updated?
  • Is your business working or do you need to start over, refresh or reimagine?
  • And in doing so how are your goals and priorities? OMG This is a big one

STOP starting projects and not finishing them!  Look honestly at your wish list and start to prioritize. You can’t get everything done. So ask yourself,

What is the fastest path for me to get the best results in the next 90 days?

Because by being brave and getting totally honest, we can see what we need to do. We get clarity on our weak-spots so that we can avoid making the same mistakes again. We plan effectively, strategize authentically and begin to build strong foundations.
