We are in times of change with the sudden impact of COVID-19.
The faster you accept the reality of what’s happening around you, around your city, and around the world, the faster you can adjust and protect your business for what’s now an inevitable recession.
My family has been off our normal routine since last Wednesday, March 11th. With schools closed and everyone working from home. #truthtalk this is what I’ve built my business for… to be available when my kids need me most.
Many companies have closed and their employees working remotely.
I firmly believe this will change the way the world works forever. Virtual / Remote / Online… whatever you prefer will become a new normal for businesses.
Here are three things you should be doing in your business today:
ONE. Get Revenue.
Right now, it’s most important to maintain a relationship with your current clients.
Continue to serve them with love.
What does that look like?
- Reach out and find out how you can add value to your client’s lives with your expertise.
- What do you have in your toolbox that you can give to a client to support the work you are already doing with them.
- Now that all our clients are homebound is there something
TWO. Convert Leads.
Show up and offer to be a support to your community.
Right now your community is looking for answers to cope with change. And you can provide them with solutions.
Here are a few ideas to generate leads:
- Offer a weekly office hours session to address questions.
- Create how-to guides on something your clients can DIY at home.
- Reach out to clients that run event-based businesses and offer to support the transition to bring events online.
THREE. Go Virtual.
With #socialdistancing in full effect, everyone is trying to find ways to work virtually including larger companies.
This is a huge opportunity for your online service-based business, you already have the online tools in place to deliver high-quality service & support to your clients.
Companies are looking for support to keep a high level of engagement with their teams working from home.
If you are a Virtual Assistant, Online Business Manager, Digital Marketing Consultant, Business Integrator, etc – start to think about how you can position your services to support offline businesses with your online expertise.
Start to look at the online tools in your tech stack and ensure you are utilizing all of the capabilities in your business.
You want to make sure that you can do the following in your business to position yourself for opportunity:
- Virtual Meet (zoom / crowdcast / google hangout)
- Online Communication – CRM for email communication (Mailchimp / Sendfox / Ontraport)
- Online Document Storage (Google Drive / Dropbox)
- Online Sales (Stripe / Paypal)
So what do you think?
